Hidden in a small Leather District alley, the shop offers nitro cold brew and rotating flash-chilled iced coffees alongside cardamom and miso caramel lattes all from over a decade of roasting experience, with a six-figure Mahlkönig grinder and a Modbar brewing system. Open Mon–Fri 7am–4pm.

George Howell Coffee — 505 Washington St. A pioneer of the US specialty coffee movement, George Howell’s flagship inside the Godfrey Hotel features a 24-hour steeped cold brew, a Kees van der Westen Spirit espresso machine, and a Modbar hand-brewing system. One of the most technically serious setups in the city. Open daily 7am–6:30pm.

Ogawa Coffee — 10 Milk St. A Kyoto-based specialty roaster with a meticulous Japanese approach to extraction. Beautiful tiered communal seating and an exceptionally precise cold brew program. Closed Mondays.

SOUTH BOSTON / SOUTH END

Reign Drink Lab — 54 Old Colony Ave, South Boston. The most creative cold brew program in the city. The signature “Dark and Stormy” combines Vietnamese nitro cold brew with traditional Vietnamese coffee, sweetened with sea salt cream.  Unique and delicious. Open Mon–Fri 6:30am–2pm & 4–8:30pm.

Jaho Coffee Roaster & Wine Bar — 665 Washington St. The original Jaho location. Nitro cold brew, boba, and an amazing all-day menu. Open Mon–Sun until 11pm.

CAMBRIDGE

Barismo — 364 Broadway. Nitro and aromatic coffee served from wood-handled kegs, and infused with gin and hops. They also make draft latte’s using cold brew strength rather than espresso. Come here for a unique experience.

Broadsheet Coffee Roasters — 100 Kirkland St. Cambridge’s first roasting company, roasting twice weekly with a rotating selection of sweet and complex coffees with nitro on tap and an outstanding pastry program. Open daily 7:30am–4pm.

The standout you won’t find anywhere else: Barismo’s Cold Brew Trilogy tasting is the Boston equivalent of a wine flight; three expressions of the same coffee, three completely different experiences. Worth going out of your way.
