I don’t have the bandwidth to review every product that is sent my way—especially if it’s an unsolicited gadget that competes with 50 other similar products. But every once and a while, I’ll get something that piques my curiosity. I happened to recently move, and my new home has this tiny fridge with limited room to store libations. I’m in the middle of renovating my kitchen, and I don’t want to buy a larger fridge until I hire a contractor to spec out the design. As luck would have it, a company called NewAir reached out and asked if I wanted to review one of their wine and beverage coolers. Talk about perfect timing! Luke Peters started the operation out of his garage. Now, it’s a full-fledged business that offers a wide range of appliances, and seems to have a handle on giving back to the community.
The company shipped the NewAir AWB-400DB Dual Zone Wine & Beverage Fridge. When it first arrived, I was shocked at how heavy the item was (114 pounds), and I was equally surprised FedEx had one guy deliver it to my door. Make sure you have two people to get it from the front door to where you want to place it, and have a dolly on hand. Once I got it inside, setup was a piece of cake. Per instructions, I let it sit upright for a couple of hours before plugging it into a power source. After that, I set up the shelves, and door handle, which was a 5 minute setup.
Front-facing compressor design allows fridge to slide under counters or stand alone
A really cool feature is the dual temperature zones that allow you to set different temperatures in the fridge. I set the upper zone to 38 degrees to accommodate the beer, and I set the lower wine racks to 55 degrees. As for size, I cannot be happier. I fit 70 cans of water and beer on the two top shelves and 18 wines on the sliding shelves below.
It could probably hold a few more wine bottles but I had a few over-sized champagne bottles that took up a little more room. I recommend placing a damp sponge, or filling a small container with water in the fridge. This will keep the humidity at a good level and keep the corks from drying out.
Easily adjust the temperatures for dual zones. The unit comes with cool LED lighting as well.
Before writing this review, I decided to wait 30 days to really test out the product. And I gotta say, it has lived up to its hype. The company also makes a ton of additional products like water dispensers, humidors, and cooling products, and other beverage refrigerators to fit every need. Overall, I love the NewAir AWB-400DB Dual Zone Wine and Beverage Fridge for its sleek stainless steel design, and its extremely quiet compressor. I’ve had many beverage units in the past that generate a lot of sound and heat—this unit does not. And a bonus is that it has a lock and key which is awesome, especially if you have children in the house. Overall, I give it five stars!
Cheers.

Being a few years later now. Do you still like it? Are you still using it and have you had any issues with it?
Hey Greg, indeed, we’re still using it and love it. We haven’t had any issues with it and I really like the extra space to store beer and wine.
