2015 Paul Blanck Pinot Blanc, Alsace, France
Owners Frédéric and Philippe Blanck farm their vines without the use of chemicals, in hopes of achieving wines that express the character of the vineyards, which often showcase minerality. This beauty produced from the Haut-Rhin district is terroir-expressive—aromas of apricot and brioche with white peach flavors that are zesty and feisty, finishing with a beautiful honeysuckle, mineral finish. It’s a great food wine with vast culinary applications—we paired it with an asparagus mushroom risotto which really knocked it out of the park. Great QPR (quality-to-price-ratio).

Biodynamic farmed, this Pinot gris is recognizable year after year for its purity and intensity. Zind-Humbrecht harvests the grapes from their top quality estate vineyards, showcasing its limestone influence from the soils. Medium-bodied, its ripe and honeyed character finishes with toasty, mineral notes. Sautéed sole made for a perfect pairing.

With a single holding of more than 330 acres in Geubwiller, Domaines Schlumberger is the largest Grands Crus producer in Alsace, producing Pinot noir grapes that offer intense color and expressive red fruit flavors. It’s a very pretty style wine, with soft, round tannins that dance on the palate. Anything with duck, mushrooms or salmon would pair magnificently!!
