Wine Review: 2002 Arteis & Co. Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut, Côte des Blancs, France
.
I’ve tried a lot of champagnes in my lifetime, and I have to be honest—many of my favorites evolve in the bottle to conjure notes of gingerbread, roasted aromas, honey and candied notes such as the 2002 Arteis & Co. Blanc de Blancs.
Older Champagnes with 10+ years have these characteristics–and this is one of those beauties that endear me to this specific style. I enjoy tasting friends and family on the older champagnes and rarely do they jump out of their skin as I do. Sometimes I wonder why sparklers like this do not evoke emotion and excitement like they do for me. Well, this exceptional 2002 Arteis & Co. Blanc de Blancs is something that you should try, if not for the simple pleasure to experiment and expand your horizons on older Champagnes. 1690 bottle production. Drink now.
