HISTORY
The Mystic River played a role in the American Revolution when on September 1, 1774, a force of 260 British regulars rowed from Boston up the Mystic River to a landing point near Winter Hill in what is known today as Somerville.
The Mystic River’s convergence at Somerville, Medford, and Everett has always held a strategic position for industry, trade and innovation. This river that flows into to the Atlantic Ocean also serves as the Northern gateway into Boston which helped lead the industrialization of this nation. The inspiration that became Assembly Row carries forward the same community ideals and diverse inclusion that defines our liberty.
Your gateway to experiencing this historically rich and captivating location begins at The Row Hotel at Assembly Row, a Marriott Bonvoy property from their prestigious Autograph Collection. Hopefully your arrival at their front desk will include meeting the wonderful Deepa who maintains a confident aura of hospitality as she interacts with guests. Her extensive knowledge of the area is impressive.
ACCOMODATIONS
There is a sense of perceptive comfort worked into the design of the lobby, rooms and hallways that’s calming yet intriguing, blending modernism with understated elegance. The combinations of textures playing against a subtly neutral palate of colors is impressive. Our room was spacious, superbly furnished, and wicked comfy. The bathroom design is an ingenious element many jaded travelers will appreciate. Functionality, proficient design and beauty make for a perfect stay.

Do not overlook the second floor—it’s like a whole different world full of amenities that most other hotels do not have. This feature shows just how much the Row values their guests. There is a guest pantry, with espresso machine, ice and snacks. It is also where the indoor swimming pool, exercise room with weights, cardio equipment and a sperate spinning room is located. While there, check out the roof patio that overlooks the vibrant street scene below. It’s a great place to enjoy a beverage and watch the sunset. Make sure to make a stop at the bar where Jamie the bartender plies her trade, making some awesome cocktails that will quench your thirst while tantalizing your palate.
FOOD & DRINK
Try the hotel’s Illy Coffee Bar or visit Reflections for breakfast or dinner. While you’re there, try the Avocado Toast, which is quite possibly the best version we’ve had…seriously, it was extraordinary!

THINGS TO DO

This location affords so many options—for entertainment, it’s almost impossible to list them all.
- Take a dip in the pool.
- Enjoy thirst-quenching cocktails at the lobby bar, or take your libation to the second floor for a good view of the area.
- During the summer, head outside and visit Night Shift Brewery Owl’s Nest beer garden, where you can play cornhole, pickleball, shuffleboard and giant jenga while sipping on some of New England’s best beers.
- If watching a film at a theater is your thing, head over to the AMC theater right down the street.
- Got some little Lego freaks? Legoland Discovery Center will be at the top of your to-do list.
- Want roll the dice, play some cards, or spin the reels on a slot machine? Then grab the shuttle to Encore.
- If enjoying libations while bowling, playing billiards, or rolling skeeball is of interest, Lucky Strike is right across the street.
This is also a central location to visit Boston. The Assembly station T stop across the street is only two stops away from all that Boston has to offer, like the North End and TD Garden. If you venture to the North End, be sure to check out the quintessential Mamma Maria for an Italian meal you’ll never forget. Only a couple more stops, and you’re at Fenway Park or Harvard Square!
Hope to see you there.

I visited this hotel last year and find the location perfect for so many reasons. Its a good central location, with plenty to see and do, and jumping on the train is steps away. I thought the staff was accommodating, and the gym and pool was nice.
