Its October and considering its #merlotme month, it’s the perfect time to pop open a delicious red! Today, Marc and I sampled a few Napa wines that are fantastic representatives coming from the Napa region.

The 2016 Mt. Brave comes from a very special region, Mt. Veeder, a special place where the elevation and weather conditions allow this area to achieve wines that are simply magical. With the increasing interest in wines from America from buyers outside the USA, wines grown in sub appellation AVA’s such as Mount Veeder are gaining recognition for their unique sense of terroir and therefore appeal to a larger group of international wine consumers. The ’16 is layered with black and red fruits that finishes grippy with delicious cocoa and raspberry notes. It’s a fabulous wine!

The other wine is the 2017 La Jota Howell Mountain Merlot, which is a wonderfully textured Merlot with layers of black fruits, chocolate and black pepper. The finish is refined with mineral, and spice. Both are exemplary examples of the Merlot produced in Napa Valley. If you find them, they 100% buy worthy!
