Bodega Pagos Matanegra Signature Tempranillo
Wine Review: 2010 Bodega Pagos Matanegra Signature Tempranillo, Ribera Del Duero, Spain
The 2010 Bodega Pagos Matanegra Signature Tempranillo is a very delicious, elegant wine from the start, and it kept getting better all the way to the end. It was almost like the wine was expressing the soul of Ribera Del Duero in this single bottling. Allspice leather, cherry and blue floral notes come through on the nose.
The flavors exhibit the depth of complexity fruit from eighty-year-old vines can bring to the table. Showcasing nuances of chocolate, vanilla, berrylicious goodness that wraps softly around the palate like a warm blanket of love. The textures are refined and sexy like plush liquid velvet in a glass.
Roasted lamb at Asador Nazareno, Burgos, Spain
The long luxurious finish is exciting ending with mouth filling soft tannins. The simple roasted lamb served at Asador Nazareno a restaurant located near the winery would pair well, letting the complex wine be the star of the show.
Rating: Excellent (93) | $60 | 14.3 % ABV
