Wine Review: 2013 Patz & Hall Russian River Valley Dutton Ranch Chardonnay
.
This beautifully made 2013 Patz & Hall Russian River Valley Dutton Ranch Chardonnay comes from some of the oldest plantings of Chardonnay in the western part of Sonoma County. Much of the vineyard is dry farmed, producing small berries that generate intense flavors and textures.
Whole cluster pressed, this seductive wine is nothing but spectacular—layered flavors of sweet peaches, honey and apricots that are amazingly pronounced. It’s beautifully balanced with a crescendo of a mineral undertones that carries through to the finish. This would make a wonderful pairing with triple-crème cheeses, chicken dishes served with beurre blanc sauces, lobster, or crabcakes. Bon appetit!
Rating: Excellent (93) | $42 | 14.0% ABV
