Wine Review: 2011 Paolo E Noemia D’Amico Falesia Chardonnay, Lazio, Italy

The winery harvested the grapes from 30 year old vines at a vineyard located between Rome and Florence, overlooking Umbria, in the gentile climate of Central Italy.

From a flavor profile, it is a Chardonnay that produces an austere, straightforward, no nonsense style that carries tangy, lemony flavors, which finishes slightly soapy with a tinge of mineral. This is a wine that needs some food, so find something grilled or sautéed, like chicken or a mild fish dish. Drink now.

Rating: Good (85) | $32 | 13.5% ABV
