2010 Mollydooker The Boxer McLaren Vale Shiraz

A broad expansive wine that is one of the smoothest Shiraz based wines I have tasted in a long time. I used to say when people would bash Australian wines that we rarely get to taste the best they have to offer because they keep them down there. I think this product proves me wrong and that is a good thing. This wine will set you straight on how good the Shiraz actually can be if you choose the right producer. Although being relatively new on the scene Mollydooker has become the go to producer when you know what you want and expect to get what you pay for. Big luscious aromas followed by balanced fruit forward flavors including just picked berries, anise with a hint of fresh tobacco finishing with a layer of vanilla from the oak regimen rounded out with baking spices carried on a big structure that can endure a wide selection of cuisines as well as being a successful stand alone sipper.
