Cinsault from Colorado?

Wine Review: 2012 Sutcliffe Vineyards Cinsault, McElmo Canyon, Colorado

This week, I am spotlighting a number of Colorado wines from Sutcliffe Vineyards.  The fruit for this wine is grown by Black Bear Orchards and the 2012 vintage afforded them some pretty good wine grapes.

Starting out, the nose is very floral and fruity with a good dose of violet and cranberry. On the palate, the textures are smooth and delicate, and the flavors are reminiscent of a fresh-picked unwashed strawberry; sweet and dusty with finesse and elegance lasting through the lengthy, spicy finish.

Nothing says, “thinking of you” like buying wine for your friends and loved ones from the winery that made them. So if you have friends or family who are from Colorado or love things from Colorado make sure to order some Sutcliffe wines in time to have them delivered before the holidays. Enjoy!
